Today is a break from deal posting...
If I would have thought I'd have one complaint about couponing I probably would have guessed it would be the time, but I've really come to enjoy it, and while I am still trying to figure out how to make it less time consuming I think that learning that is part of the "art."
I have however come to really dislike misleading information. I read A LOT of other blogs about couponing, sales, financial management, etc. I will be the first to admit that I often look to them before my shopping trips and to make my savings even sweeter, but I was REALLY misled this past weekend and it wasn't fun.
I know a lot of blogs post about sales all over the country, etc. but they've been doing them for a long time and they don't actually go take advantage of the sales, so I think my approach is definitely going to be more first-hand. I was just so disappointed to think I was going to get a spectacular deal because someone posted THEY had gotten it, but anyway you put it- it didn't come out that sweet (this comes after I held up the line for about 10 min making sure it was exactly as they posted with the exact coupons.) Grr! I guess that's the downside of people trying to save a lot of people a lot of money.
After saving at least 65% on every purchase I've made (including dining out) over the past 4 weeks, I'm happy to say things are going well!
We've even got a stock pile started- after the Target web coupon on wipes we have about 40 packages of wipes in our garage on a shelf- all of which were either free or under $0.50! My husband thought it was too cool to be able to walk out to the garage when we were out of Nursery water and see 8 gallons sitting on a storage shelf in the garage.
Today was another freebies day, 6 more boxes of free Kleenex, 2 free bottles of Cranberry juice, more free Nexxus hair care, free Jell-O, free baking powder and salt, free Covergirl lip color and more! (And I still have $20 in Register Rewards left over from Wal-Greens)
My FAVORITE deal of the day was the $5.99 issue of Vanity Fair with Robert Pattinson on the cover (i know- i'm THAT lady) I purchased two- (one for my best friend in Germany) only rang up $1.99 each! That was my full-price splurge for the week.
With my husband out of town for the next week I'm going to cut down my shopping trips, but thankfully while I was at Kroger today they had a Saturday Night Special and I got 3 packages of bone-in Pork chops- normally $21 each, for $5.00!
There are some more fantastic coupons coming out tomorrow, don't forget to grab your paper!
Oh! Christmas is almost here and if you have little ones you ALWAYS need batteries- Kroger has 4-packs of Duracell batteries for only $1.88 (normally $3.49) and there were $0.75/1 coupons in the 11.01.09 inserts- we stocked up!
have a fabulous weekend!
happy hugging!
